NSN# 6515-01-530-7015 for government purchase.  One of only two authorized tourniquets authorized for purchase for the US Army.  Testing conducted by the United States Army Institute of Surgical Research determined the SOFTT to be 100% effective.  The SOFTT is standard issue to all members of the US Army Special Operations Forces who are issued the Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK).

Features include a windlass machined from a single piece of aircraft-grade aluminum, molded Acetyl tri-rings, and safety set screw to avoid loosening the tourniquet during patient movement.  Dual locking rings allow for redundancy in operations in the event of a broken ring.  The SOFTT does not have any Velcro fasteners which can become dirty, muddy, frozen, or saturated with blood and difficult to use. 

Appication of the SOFTT is similar to standard training to law enforcement personnel as the application of a hobble restraint.  Simple application is the same for arm or leg injuries minimizing confusion during tactical applications of the SOFTT.

Deployment of a tourniquet needs to be done quickly and efficiently.  The Quick-Eject Tourniquet Carrier allows personnel to protect their equipment from the elements, mud, blood, and moisture while allowing the tourniquet to be rapidly removed from its carrier.  Field expedient methods of mounting tourniquets with rubber bands or aircraft ties can expose the tourniquet to contamination reducing effectiveness.

Features include one-handed operation and a versatile velcro mounting system which allows for multiple manners of attachment to your armor carrier, belt, equipment pack, or thigh rig.  This carrier fits both the Special Operations Forces Tactical Tourniquet (SOFTT) and the Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT).
